2019 Professors Without Borders Tour: Uganda

2019 has been an exciting year for Professors Without Borders! From June until August we are hosting five short courses and sending 15 academics and professionals around the world to teach over 500 students. Next week, PROWIBO returns to Kagadi, Uganda to deliver our third short course at the African Rural University (ARU), an all-women’s university. This program will mark our third year of programs at ARU!

Founded in 2009 by the Uganda Rural Development and Training Programme (URDT), ARU serves to empower young women of rural communities through education and skill development, so that they can serve as leaders and innovators in their communities. ARU’s methodology consists of the visionary and creative approaches, which allow students to serve as the main actors within the development process and utilize critical thinking skills to ensure sustainable approaches to rural development.

Our 2019 team includes PROWIBO veterans Rachel Warnick and Suzanne Stein, who all taught at our 2018 all-female program in Lucknow, India, and Akbar Saeed. Rachel, Suzanne and Akbar will be offering an exciting catalog featuring courses in entrepreneurship, communications and ethics and design thinking.

Make sure to follow PROWIBO on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Linkedin to stay up to date on our short courses and events and follow our 2019 Blog to read updates from our professors.
