PROWIBO’s final summer school program has begun at Srinakharinwirot Univeristy in Bangkok, Thailand. Our lecturer Georgiana arrived in Bangkok over the weekend and she had a fantastic first day teaching.
“I had a wonderful first day here at Srinakharinwirot University.”-Georgiana
Following the open ceremony of the program, Georgiana began her first session with 13 students. Her lecture focused on gender and politics. Georgiana introduced her students to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
Students participate in the discussion on SDG No. 5.
Following the introduction of the SDGs, Georgiana had her students concentrate on Goal 5– Gender Equality.
Students in Georgiana’s class learn about the SDGs in their first day of classes.
During the rest of the session, the class covered topics, such as the social contructivisms of gender and sex, the role of gender norms in power and disciplinary power, gender quotas, women in politics, and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th waves of feminism and their implications.
We wish Georgiana luck with the rest of the program. Many thanks to Srinakharinwirot University for the warm welcome! To stay up to date on our summer school programs, follow our blog.
